Family Description and Location
An informal British family are looking for a friendly housekeeper at their stunning grade II listed Georgian property on a large rural estate. The estate is located in the Pulborough Area of West Sussex. No driving is required for the role but please note that this is a rural area. The family consists of 2 adults and 2 adult daughters one teen and one in her 20’s. They also have a cat and a dog The clients are looking for an experienced, self-sufficient and organised candidate who is happy to work without direction . The main duties will be in housekeeping the 7-bedroom property but The family also host weddings and events on the estate (approx. 12 times per annum from May – October and there will be requirement to help with cleaning up after events.

Job Description
- Hands on cleaning, laundry and ironing
- Cleaning antiques, porcelain, old books and marble will be required. Someone who takes pride in caring for historical pieces will be a welcome bonus.
- Cooking would be a bonus
- Tending to the garden, watering plants
- Dog walking
- Running errands
- Calling and dealing with contractors
- Occasional house and animal sitting when client travels
- Light gardening duties included ride on mowing a bonus
Candidate Requirements
It is essential that you have worked in a similar role in a private household and have checkable references. You will need to be a self starter who is happy to work Saturday and have Sunday and Monday off during the Summer.
Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am - 5pm with a lunch break
(From May – October) you may be asked to work up to 12 Saturdays if there are weddings booked and to take your holiday outside of Wedding season.
- Accommodation: The accommodation is a lovely one bedroom separate flat with a sitting room, kitchen and bathroom away from the main house. Pets and partners will be considered on a case by case basis but the accommodation is unsuitable for dependents.
- Salary: £35-40K neg dependent on skill set and references with a full contract, holiday TAX and NI
Council tax/water bills included and £1000 towards electricity (Wifi/phone not included)
