What is a Nanny?
A Nanny is someone who looks after your children in your home either on a live-out or live-in basis. We have requests for a Nanny from all types of households, from help for an informal home, to looking after children in a fully staffed formal household, and through to a Nanny on a country estate, and even jobs to work overseas or travel with their employers.
You may be looking for a Nanny to look after your children on a ‘sole charge’ basis while you are at work, or you may just want another pair of hands as you simply have a very busy life. Your Nanny could also travel with you.
A Nanny may come with childcare qualifications. Many simply have years of experience and are doing the role just as this is the career they have chosen because of their fondness of children.
A Nanny would not usually expect to do general housekeeping, although they do carry out ‘nursery duties’, which will include keeping the children’s room clean and tidy, do their laundry and make sure that school uniforms and gym kits are available when needed.
At Town and Country Staff we strongly believe that anyone who looks after children, regardless of their experience or the ages of the children, should have an up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate. If your Nanny does not have this we are happy to let you know of courses available.

Town and Country Staff now has a understands that finding a nanny for your children can be a difficult task. We can introduce you to Nannies at all levels, from someone who can be a ‘mothers help’, through to very experienced candidates who have many years of experience and are capable of a ‘sole charge’ role.
