The family have three young children aged 9 months, 4 and 6 years old. They currently employ a live-in nanny who will be leaving at the beginning of June. A lovely British family are seeking an experienced, warm and highly organised Weekend Housekeeper to assist with the smooth running and presentation of their beautiful country home in Little Somerford, Wiltshire. The family have three young children aged 9 months, 4 and 6 years old. They currently employ a live-in nanny who will be leaving at the beginning of June. This is a long-term weekend position within an informal but well-run private household. The family are looking for somebody discreet, proactive and capable of maintaining high housekeeping standards whilst assisting with the general smooth running of the home over weekends.
The family are happy to consider either:
- A live-in weekend candidate able to arrive on Friday evening and remain through the weekend, or
- A local live-out candidate able to travel daily to and from the property
The property is located approximately:
- 15–20 minutes from Chippenham
- Approximately 25 minutes from Swindon
Job Description
Duties to include:
- Full housekeeping and maintaining the home to a high standard
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- Changing bed linen and preparing guest bedrooms
- Assisting with simple family cooking and kitchen support
- Keeping household areas organised and well presented
- Running occasional errands if required
- Assisting with weekend hosting and general household support
- Helping ensure the home is fully prepared for family weekends
Candidate Requirements
The family are looking for somebody who is:
- Experienced working within private households
- Reliable, discreet and trustworthy
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Friendly, calm and professional
- Confident working independently
- Flexible and happy assisting where needed
- A confident housekeeper with strong laundry and ironing skills
Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
- Weekend role
- Typically arriving Friday evening and remaining through to Sunday
- September 2026 start
- Salary: Approximately £350–£400 net per weekend depending on experience and references
For live-in candidates:
- Accommodation and meals will be provided
- Return train fare from London will also be covered
For live-out candidates:
- Candidates will need their own car and be able to travel daily to and from the property due to the rural location of the house.
