Job Description

This is a varied role, approximately 70% childcare, 20% light household assistance and 10% Family PA duties, ideal for someone who enjoys becoming an integral part of a busy family.

Duties will include:

  • Collecting the children from school each afternoon.
  • Driving the children to after-school clubs, sports and other activities (typically three to four activities per week).
  • Supervising homework and supporting the children's evening routines where required.
  • Preparing simple children's meals and snacks if required.
  • Organising school bags, uniforms, sports kit and ensuring everything is prepared for the following day.
  • Keeping on top of the children's diaries, school schedules and extracurricular activities.
  • Researching and booking children's holiday activities where required.
  • Making restaurant reservations and assisting with simple family administration.
  • Sourcing and purchasing items for the family.
  • Running occasional household and personal errands.
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
  • Keeping the kitchen tidy throughout the afternoon and evening.
  • Children's laundry and wardrobe organisation.
  • General tidying of family areas.
  • Assisting the Housekeeper/Cook with occasional tasks requiring two people.
  • Helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the family home.

Candidate Requirements

The family are seeking a warm, energetic and organised professional who enjoys working with older, school-aged children and is looking for a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Nanny, Nanny PA, Family Assistant or similar role within a private household.
  • A genuine enjoyment of working with school-aged children.
  • Excellent organisational and diary management skills.
  • The ability to manage busy after-school schedules and changing daily routines.
  • Strong spoken English and excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive attitude.
  • Confidence working independently and using initiative.
  • A full UK driving licence together with their own car.
  • A willingness to assist with light household duties alongside an existing Housekeeper/Cook.
  • Excellent checkable references.
  • A genuine desire for a long-term role.

Days of Work & Salary

Monday to Friday

Approximately 1:00pm–7:30pm (to be confirmed).

The role generally involves one school collection each afternoon, although collection times vary depending on the children's schools and after-school clubs, typically between 3:30pm and 5:15pm.

Salary: Approximately £20.00 per hour, with flexibility depending on experience and whether the successful candidate is engaged on a PAYE or self-employed basis.
