Live Out Daily Full time Housekeeper – Competitive Salary

Family Description & Location:

An informal, professional British couple are seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeper to care for their second home on Lake Windermere.
The property is a substantial, newly renovated contemporary residence finished to an exceptionally high standard. It is situated directly on the lake, very close to Storrs Hall Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere.
The couple travel extensively and own several other homes. They have three grown-up children who may visit from time to time. There is currently one dog, with the potential for a second from next year.
There are contractors responsible for the garden and exterior maintenance. When the property opens fully in July, there will be no other full-time staff based at the house, although the principals may occasionally bring trusted staff with them during visits.
Chefs will be arranged separately for shoot lunches — no cooking is required within this role.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a self-sufficient professional who enjoys working independently and maintaining a property to an exceptional standard.

Job Description:

The principals expect the property to be presented to a six-star standard at all times.
Duties will include:

• Full housekeeping to a meticulous standard, including daily hoovering and care of all main living areas
• Laundry and full wardrobe management
• Preparing the house for shoot lunches (chef organised separately)
• Serving drinks and light refreshments when required
• Meeting and greeting guests
• Care and maintenance of specialist surfaces including wood, marble and granite
• Packing and unpacking for one of the principals
• Overseeing contractors and ensuring the property is pristine and guest-ready at any time
• Liaising with the PA and/or principal to ensure all arrivals are anticipated and the house is perfectly prepared

Candidate Requirements:

The client is seeking a polished, discreet and highly organised Housekeeper with experience working to a high standard within either a luxury hotel environment or a private household.

You must:

• Be confident managing a large property independently
• Be happy working alone for extended periods
• Have excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Be confident caring for high-end interiors and specialist finishes
• Hold a full driving licence and have your own car

Days of Work, Accommodation & Salary:

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00am – 5:00pm
• Occasional weekend work may be required during the shooting season when the principals are in residence (overtime or time off in lieu to be agreed)
• Competitive salary for the right candidate
