Family Description and Location

A private household on the rural outskirts of Norwich is looking for an experienced and professional Live-In Housekeeper to join their home on a long-term basis.

The property is a seven-bedroom, two-storey residence occupied by two principals, with grown-up children who visit and occasional guests. The family also has three medium-sized dogs, so candidates must be comfortable around pets.

The position is replacing a long-standing Housekeeper who is retiring, and the principals are looking for someone reliable and trustworthy who will take pride in the smooth running and presentation of the household.

Due to the rural location, a driver is essential.

The Position

The Housekeeper will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the household and maintaining the home to a consistently high standard.

Duties will include:

• Full housekeeping duties
• Cleaning and tidying throughout the property
• Maintaining the home to a high standard at all times
• Laundry and ironing
• Wardrobe care
• Organisation and care of household linen
• Preparing and maintaining guest bedrooms
• Tidying and resetting rooms
• Simple occasional cooking
• Dressing and laying the dinner table
• Setting the table for dinner parties and entertaining
• Supporting the principals with guests and occasional events
• Occasional pet care and support
• Working independently and managing the daily household routine
• Ensuring the smooth running of the household

Days and Hours

Monday to Friday.

7:30am–5:30pm with a one-hour break each day.

45 hours per week.

Salary

£45,000–£47,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.

Accommodation

Excellent private accommodation is provided in a separate two-bedroom cottage with its own garden.

All household bills are paid.

Start Date

As soon as possible, although the principals are happy to wait for the right person.
