Family Description & Location:

A warm, busy and welcoming family based in Lymington, Hampshire are seeking an experienced and energetic Live-in Housekeeper/Cook to join their household on a long-term basis.
The family live in a well-maintained home in a lovely coastal setting and are looking for someone who can become a trusted and reliable part of their household. This is a varied all-rounder role suited to someone who enjoys working in a family environment and is confident balancing housekeeping, cooking, and occasional childcare support. The family have two school-aged children and a friendly Cockerpoo.

Job Description:

This is a hands-on and varied role where you will be responsible for maintaining the home to a high standard, alongside providing support with cooking, errands, childcare and pet care.
• Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, tidying and maintaining all areas of the home to a high standard
• Laundry and ironing, including care of everyday garments and household linens
• Changing bed linen and maintaining organised wardrobes and storage areas
• Managing household supplies and assisting with shopping lists
• Cooking healthy, nutritious family-style meals on a daily basis
• Running errands such as grocery shopping and dry cleaning
Childcare support will be required on an occasional basis:
• Assisting with school runs (drop-offs and pick-ups)
• Supervising children after school when required
• Supporting bedtime routines approximately two evenings per week for one child
• Occasional babysitting in the evenings or at weekends
• Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
Pet care forms part of the role:
• Caring for the family dog, including feeding, walking and general wellbeing
• Dog/house sitting when the family are away (approximately 15–20 weeks per year)

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience working within a private household in a similar all-rounder role
• Confident cook, able to prepare healthy and varied family meals
• Driver essential with a full, clean licence
• Comfortable with dogs and happy to assist with their care
• Confident supporting with childcare when required
• Highly organised, proactive and able to use initiative
• Flexible and adaptable with a positive, can-do attitude
• Strong attention to detail and high housekeeping standards
• Willingness to travel with the family on occasion

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary:

• Full-time position, working 5 days per week (Tuesday to Saturday)
• 38–40 hours per week
• Later start each day (typically between 11:00am–1:00pm)
• Finishing between 8:00pm–8:30pm
• Sunday and Monday off
• Flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends (babysitting)
• One-bedroom private apartment provided in the local village
• Salary £50,000–£55,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
• Paid holiday and additional benefits included
