The family home is located in Sevenoaks, Kent – a beautiful part of England with excellent transport links to London (just 30 minutes by train). There are no pets at home. 

Job Description
 
This is a varied role supporting the family with childcare, nursery duties, and light housekeeping. Initially, the focus will be on the toddler ( age 3 years) while the mother cares for the new born, with increasing involvement with the baby as they grow and routines are established.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Care for the toddler day-to-day, including nursery runs, play, and activities.
  • Playing and entertaining the 3 year old
  • Support with the baby when required (feeding, settling, routines)
  • Nursery duties – bottle washing/sterilising, tidying play areas, organising children’s belongings
  • Escorting the toddler to activities and appointments
  • Preparing and cooking simple, healthy meals for the children
  • Assistance with laundry, light housekeeping, running errands, and grocery top-ups
  • Supporting morning and evening routines including bath and bedtime
  • Flexibility as responsibilities evolve when the baby grows

Candidate Requirements:
 

  • Genuine love of babies and young children, with a warm and caring approach
  • Confident driver (car provided during working hours) for nursery runs and local errands
  • Fluent, well-spoken English to support children’s language development and liaise with nursery staff, activity leaders, and visitors
  • Confident answering the phone and welcoming guests or contractors
  • Helpful, hands-on attitude around the home – happy to cook, assist with laundry, and keep things running smoothly
  • First Aid Certificate required; DBS to be completed
  • Age-related childcare knowledge (toddler care, early development stages) desirable
  • Baby confident would be ideal
  • Ideal for a Junior Nanny looking to gain more experience with young children

Days of Work, Accommodation & Salary

  • Monday to Friday, weekends free (occasional weekends with notice, time off in lieu provided)
  • Working hours: 8 hours a day eg: 7am–11am and 3pm–7pm unless needed
  • Private bedroom and bathroom within the family home
  • Use of family car during working hours (clean driving licence required)
  • Salary: £28,000–£30,000 gross per annum
  • Start: ASAP, but the family will wait for the right candidate
