Family Description and Location
A Professional businessman is looking for a new Junior butler / Houseman / Driver to join as established team. He lives with his partner and a toddler. The estate is large and comprises of an 11thcentury mansion surrounded by impressive grounds. The staff consists of an Estate manager, farm manager, a House manager, 2 nannies, a chef, 3 housekeepers and 4 gardeners and various estate workers. This is an informal household where you will report and work closely with the House Manager. The principle also has houses abroad and in other Locations in the UK including London. This is his main residence, but he spends a large amount of time travelling and you but be asked to travel to other properties in the UK. The estate is located a 20-minute drive from Market Harborough which has a fast train in to London in 1 hour.
Job Description
- Laying table etc
- Serving wine and drinks – no silver service as this is an informal household.
- Assisting the head butler at events and buffet style food service.
- Front of house; meeting and greeting guests and taking suitcases to rooms.
- Being able to deputise for the Head Butler on occasion.
- General driving and airport and station runs.
- Washing and refuelling cars as needed.
Candidate Requirements
It is essential that you have either worked in a private home, hotel or come from a security or ex-army background. You must have a clean driving licence and have a full set of good checkable references. This is mainly an indoor role.
Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
- 2-bedroom cottage on 2 levels partly furnished with council tax and water paid. (electricity, oil for heating and broadband not included)
- Car for use on duty
- 50 hour working week.
- 5 days with weekends off when the client travels.
- Suitable for a partner and pets not dependents.
- Salary is dependent on your skill set and negotiable but will be in the region of £30-35K with a contract and tax and NI paid.
- Immediate start but will wait for the right person.
