Family Description and Location:

We are seeking an experienced and friendly domestic couple to join an established team on a beautiful estate in the Surrey Hills. The estate comprises of a 10-bedroom house for the owners who are a professional couple and their 3 labradoodles, 60 acres of land,  including 10 acres of vineyard, and 5 acres of formal gardens surrounding a Manor House. The gardens have been open to the public since the 1930s and are well-established. There are events that take place on the estate. The team consists of an estate manager and 2 gardeners/vineyard assistants.   The successful couple will work collaboratively with the team and vineyard staff.

Job Description:

One half of the couple will:

Assist the gardening and vineyard team as and when required including:
 

• General Gardening including Maintaining lawns,  pruning  and strimming
• Pool Maintenance
• Dealing with heating and other systems including plant rooms and boilers
• Mowing with various equipment, including John Deere ride-on greens mower,
• Assisting with a small Alpaca herd and pet care
• Keeping the outdoor areas of the property well maintained.
• Changing lightbulbs and other general DIY
• Maintenance of cars including washing, refuelling, organising MOTS
• General errands and driving such as airport and station runs and shopping for provisions.
• Dealing with contractors and deliveries.
• House and dog sitting by arrangement when the client travels.

The other part of the couple will work mainly indoors to maintain the house to a high standard.
 

• Housekeeping to a high standard
• General laundry and ironing
• Preparation of guest bedrooms as and when required.
• Assisting with evenings on the estate including meeting and greeting guests, serving and prep work
• There is no cooking in this role but you may be asked to assist prepping in the kitchen.
• Anything else required to ensure that the house and estate run smoothly.
• House and dog sitting whilst owners are away
• Errands, some admin and IT and help with vineyard task, packing, and other fulfilment.
• Light gardening work

Candidate Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
 

• Be an experienced domestic couple that have worked together in a private household or similar.
• You will both need a full driving licence.
• Written checkable references.
• You will need to be positive, trustworthy, reliable, proactive & happy to work as part of a team in a collaborative fashion.
• Very dog friendly
• Good IT skills preferable

Days of Work and Salary:
 

• Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm with 1 hours lunch break and 2, 15 minute or 1, 30 minute other break during the day
• (Please note that one half of the couple who works outdoors will have their hours adjusted seasonally by 30 mins to an hour according to daylight
• Salary: £60-£70K neg dependent on references and skill set and accommodation
• Option fully furnished 1- or 2-bedroom apartment with open plan living room and kitchen and bathroom. All bills included (salary adjusted accordingly)
• Not suitable for pets or dependents
• April – June Start (will wait for you to serve notice with a current employer)
