Join a welcoming British/European family comprising three children aged between 8 and 13, along with their friendly Labrador, in their charming Dorset estate. Situated in a picturesque village just a 10-minute drive from Sherborne, a bustling market town with ample amenities, the estate is set on a farm with three acres of gardens. The family is seeking an experienced live-in housekeeper cook to complement the existing full-time domestic couple and part-time gardener, ensuring the smooth running of the household.

Job Description:

As a live-in housekeeper cook, you will work closely with the full-time domestic couple, providing essential support in maintaining the house and assisting with culinary duties for the family.
 

• Perform housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and changing bed linens.
• Being child friendly and happy to engage with the children and spend time with them.
• Occasional babysitting by request. (over time paid or time off in lieu)
• Assist with family cooking, focusing on dinner preparation left on the stove.
• One of the principles cooks so sometimes aiding with food preparation, clearing, table laying etc.

• Engage in baking and preparing snacks, ensuring a well-stocked and organized kitchen.
• Manage kitchen cleanliness and organization, including restocking provisions and placing weekly shopping orders for fresh produce.
• Occasional batch cooking for days off.  Opportunity to use the vegetable patch and fruit trees.

Candidate Requirements:

We are seeking a housekeeper cook comfortable with rural living and working within a team who is very child friendly and would be happy to babysit on occasion.  possessing a valid driving license and impeccable written references.

Days of Work, Accommodation, and Salary:
 

• Enjoy newly refurbished,  self-contained accommodation featuring one bedroom, one bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen/sitting room with a patio away from the main house. (not suitable for dependents) Visitors by arrangement.
• Pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Immediate start available, but will wait for the right person to work their notice.
• Work Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6:30 pm with appropriate breaks and a lunch break.
• Access to a car on duty.
• Competitive salary of £35-40K negotiable based on skill set and experience.
