Family Description and Location

A mature professional couple are looking for an experienced and reliable Daily Housekeeper to join their household in Mill Hill, North London. This is a lovely long-term position within an established household. The family enjoy excellent longevity with their staff, with their previous housekeeper having been with them for an exceptional 30 years. They are now looking for someone who would similarly enjoy becoming a trusted and valued part of the household. The property is a substantial 6-bedroom home arranged over two main levels, with additional guest accommodation and a pavilion.

The house is conveniently located approximately equidistant from Mill Hill Broadway and Totteridge & Whetstone stations. There is also a bus which stops directly by the property. A driver would be preferable but is not essential, and parking is available for a candidate who does drive.

 
Job Description
Housekeeping will be the main focus of the position, ensuring that the house and associated areas are kept beautifully clean, organised and presentable at all times.
Duties will include:

• Full daily housekeeping of the main house
• Cleaning and maintaining the pavilion and guest accommodation
• Keeping all rooms clean, tidy and well presented
• Laundry and ironing
• Washing and caring for clothes and household linen
• Changing bed linen and arranging items for dry cleaning when required
• General household organisation and tidying
• Watering indoor plants
• Ensuring the property is kept in excellent order when the principals are away
• Answering the telephone and taking messages when required
• Light kitchen preparation and assisting with simple food preparation
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organised
• Preparing guest rooms when required
• Assisting with occasional household tasks as they arise

The principals generally enjoy doing their own cooking, so this is not a cooking position, although some kitchen preparation and assistance would be appreciated.
There is a gardener who takes care of the outside areas.
The household may get a dog in the future, so the successful candidate should be comfortable around pets.

Days and Hours
Monday to Friday
8:30am – 4:30pm
Occasional evening and weekend overtime may be required with advance notice and will be paid additionally at an agreed hourly rate.

Salary
£45,000 gross per annum
