What is a Housekeeper Nanny
In recent years we have seen the role of Housekeeper Nanny become more and more popular. A Nanny Housekeeper can be live-in or live-out, sole charge or shared care. A Nanny Housekeeper is usually a role that is undertaken when the household has school or nursery age children which leaves the person free to do housekeeper duties during the day and then look after children when they return.
A Nanny Housekeeper would usually be responsible for:
- Keeping the house clean and tidy
- Laundry duties
- Ironing including the children’s clothes
- Making sure school uniforms and gym kits are ready on time
- Family style cooking – particularly for the children
- Looking after the children, taking them on play dates
- They may even walk the dog!
At Town and Country we strongly believe that anyone who looks after children, regardless of their experience or the ages of the children, should have an up to date Paediatric First Aid Certificate. If your Housekeeper Nanny does not have this, we are happy to let you know of courses available.
Housekeeper Nannies are one of the most sensitive roles we recruit. This person has access to one’s home and looks after the children.
