Daily Afternoon Housekeeper/Family Assistant – Covent Garden Monday–Friday | Live-Out | £45K–£55K
A warm and welcoming Anglo-American family is looking for an experienced Afternoon Housekeeper/Family Assistant to join their household in Covent Garden.
The family have three children aged 11, 9 and 6 and live in a beautiful four-bedroom en-suite duplex/lateral home with a roof terrace and separate apartment. They also have two small dogs.
Mum and Dad are very involved in the children’s care, including school runs, homework and cooking dinner. They are looking for a capable and flexible Family Assistant to support the household during the busy afternoon and early evening period.
The family travel during the school holidays, including Christmas, Easter and the summer, and may be away for up to approximately two months in total throughout the year.
Job Description
The role begins with housekeeping and household support before transitioning into the children’s afternoon routine, school collections and family logistics. Duties will include:
Supporting the Daily Housekeeper with housekeeping, tidying, laundry and ironing.
Keeping bedrooms, bathrooms and family areas organised and resetting rooms during the afternoon and evening.
School collections when required and assisting with after-school activities and family logistics.
Helping with children’s bags, uniforms and preparation for the following day.
Helping coordinate children’s appointments and activities and supporting their afternoon routine.
Assisting with dinner preparation and clearing up, with occasional simple food preparation and kitchen assistance. Daily family cooking is not required.
Receiving deliveries, carrying out household errands and helping with the two small dogs.
Occasional babysitting and later finishes with prior notice.
Occasional overnight dog care when the family travel, by prior arrangement and separately remunerated.

Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working within a high-end private household.
- Strong housekeeping skills and a willingness to remain hands-on.
- Experience with school-aged children and a warm, confident, child-friendly manner.
- Comfortable combining household support with family assistance alongside involved parents.
- Organised and confident managing school collections, activities and changing family schedules.
- Proactive and able to anticipate the family’s needs.
- Flexible regarding occasional later finishes and babysitting.
- Comfortable around dogs and willing to provide occasional overnight pet care by prior arrangement.
- Ability to work well alongside the family’s Daily Housekeeper.
- Discreet, reliable and professional, with the right to work in the UK.
Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
- Monday to Friday
- Working hours will be approximately 12.00/12.30pm to 7.00/7.30pm, with some flexibility for occasional later finishes.
- This is a live-out position.
- Any agreed overnight dog care or additional requirements outside the normal working schedule will be separately remunerated.
- Salary: £45,000–£55,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.
