A welcoming family based in Oxford is seeking an experienced and engaging Daily Nanny/Governess to care for their two school-aged children, a girl aged 8 and a boy aged 9.

The household is fully staffed, and the family is looking for a warm, professional and highly organised candidate who can take an active role in the children’s education, development and daily routines.

The family travels extensively during the school holidays and throughout the summer, so flexibility to travel internationally is essential.

Job Description

The Nanny/Governess will be responsible for supporting the children’s educational and personal development, including homework, additional learning and school-related organisation.

Duties will include planning stimulating and age-appropriate activities, managing school and extracurricular schedules, school pick-ups, accompanying the children to activities and overseeing their evening and bedtime routines.

The successful candidate will encourage independence, confidence and curiosity while providing a consistent, nurturing and well-structured environment.

The role will involve working closely with the parents and wider household team and accompanying the family on international travel during school holidays.

Candidate Requirements

• The family is looking for an educated, nurturing and highly organised Nanny/Governess with experience supporting school-aged children.
• Previous teaching experience or a strong educational background would be highly desirable. Candidates currently working within education who are looking to transition into a private household role will also be considered.
• The candidate should be calm, patient, engaging and proactive, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Discretion and professionalism are essential, together with flexibility to travel internationally for extended periods.
• Candidates should ideally already be based in Oxford or be willing to relocate to the area and should be comfortable working in a household with pets.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary

• Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off.
• The working day will usually begin at approximately 6.30am and continue until around 12.00pm, followed by a three-hour afternoon break. The Nanny/Governess will then return for school pick-ups, activities and the children’s evening routine, finishing at approximately 8.00pm.
• This is a daily live-out position.
• Salary: £60,000–£70,000 gross per annum, depending on experience.
• Start date: ASAP, although the family is happy to accommodate the successful candidate’s notice period.
