A private and low-key couple are seeking an experienced live-in Domestic Couple to support the running of their country home located in a rural setting close to the South Suffolk border.
The property is set within peaceful countryside surroundings, offering privacy and a relaxed working environment. The nearest airport is Stansted, which is easily accessible by car, along with nearby market towns providing local amenities.
This is a quiet, well-run household suited to a couple who enjoy countryside living and are looking for a long-term, stable position.
The household is supported by a full time housekeeper who lives locally, a head gardener who lives on site, and is home to three dogs.

Job Description:

This is a varied and hands-on role for a proactive couple who can take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the home and surrounding grounds.
The roles would suit a Housekeeper and a Handyman / Assistant Gardener.

Housekeeper

• Responsible for maintaining the home to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
• Daily housekeeping including cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Wardrobe care and general household organisation
• Light cooking and meal preparation when required
• Preparing the house for the principals’ arrival and ensuring everything is presented to a high standard
• Working alongside a part-time housekeeper

Handyman / Assistant Gardener

• General maintenance of the property and assisting with any repairs
• Outdoor upkeep including lawn care, hedge cutting and general tidiness of the grounds
• Supporting with seasonal gardening tasks
• Swimming pool maintenance
• Liaising with contractors when required
• Assisting with general household support duties as needed
• Working alongside the head gardener as required

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Domestic Couple within a private household
• Practical, hands-on and flexible approach
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• Comfortable living and working in a rural environment
• Trustworthy, discreet and reliable
• Driving preferred due to location
• Days of Work, Accommodation & Salary
• Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
• Working two Saturdays per month on a rota basis with the housekeeper
• Accommodation provided within a large three-bedroom cottage separate to the main house
• Pets will be considered
• Salary up to £80,000 gross per year for the couple, depending on experience
• Start date flexible for the right couple
