Family Description & Location:

A professional working couple are seeking an experienced and proactive Housekeeper to take full responsibility for the smooth running and upkeep of their large lateral apartment in South Hampstead. The property spans approximately 300 square metres and is set across one floor.
The family have a young child who attends nursery and has their own nanny. There are no pets in the household. Both principals work full-time, so the ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain exceptionally high standards is essential.
The apartment is ideally located just off Finchley Road, within easy walking distance of Finchley Road Underground Station and Finchley & Frognal Overground Station, with excellent bus routes nearby.
 
Duties:

• Full housekeeping to a high standard, including daily cleaning and organisation
• Care and maintenance of specialist surfaces, including marble and other high-end finishes
• Laundry and ironing, including care of delicate fabrics such as cashmere and wool
• Wardrobe management and organisation
• Occasional simple food preparation (1–2 times per week), such as steamed salmon, chicken, and salads
• Ensuring the home is consistently tidy, well-presented, and running efficiently
 
Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience working as a Housekeeper in private households
• Excellent attention to detail and knowledge of high-end finishes and fabrics
• Proactive, discreet, and able to work independently
• Strong organisational skills and a calm, professional manner
• Comfortable working alongside a nanny within a staffed household
 
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with weekends free. 6–8 hours per day (to be discussed). Total of 40–45 hours per week
Salary: £22–£25 gross per hour, negotiable depending on skill set and experience
Start Date: As soon as possible, though the family are happy to wait for the right candidate to complete their notice period
