Vacancy Description
Family Description and Location:
A warm and welcoming family based in Hampstead Garden Suburb, North West London (NW11), are seeking a kind, proactive Junior Nanny to join them on a long-term basis from June 2026.
The family have a delightful 2.5-year-old daughter and are expecting a new baby shortly. They are looking for a supportive helping hand who will work alongside mum, particularly during the early months with the newborn.
The property is ideally positioned on the north side of Hampstead Heath, offering beautiful green open spaces and woodland walks right on the doorstep. The nearest Underground station is Golders Green (Northern Line), providing straightforward access into Central London.
There are no pets in the household. A cleaner attends once per week.
This is a lovely opportunity for a junior nanny seeking a stable live-in role within a calm, family-oriented household.
Job Description:
This is primarily a childcare role with a focus on supporting both children, particularly the toddler, while mum cares for the newborn.
Responsibilities will include providing attentive and nurturing care for the 2.5-year-old, supporting with newborn care alongside mum, planning age-appropriate activities and outings, taking the toddler on local walks and trips to the park, and carrying out occasional nursery drop-offs and collections.
The nanny will prepare simple, healthy meals for the child, maintain tidy and organised children’s areas, assist with children’s laundry and help establish and maintain a calm, structured routine.
In addition to childcare, the family would appreciate support with general household tidying and light housekeeping to ensure the home runs smoothly on a daily basis. A cleaner attends once per week, so this is not a heavy housekeeping role, but the nanny should be happy to help keep communal areas orderly and assist where needed.
This is very much a helping hand role rather than a fully autonomous, formal nanny position. The family are looking for someone warm, flexible and happy to work as part of a team.
No travel is required.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years’ childcare experience and experience caring for toddlers. Confidence around newborns is essential, even if prior experience has been shared care rather than sole charge.
The nanny should hold a valid DBS (or be willing to obtain one) and provide strong, checkable references.
The family are seeking someone kind, patient and energetic, organised and proactive without being overbearing, and genuinely happy in a live-in environment.
