Housekeeper Nanny

Vacancy Description

Family Description & Location:

A warm, welcoming British family are seeking an experienced and child-focused Nanny / Housekeeper to join them at their substantial private estate on the Isle of Man.
This is a well-structured, long-term position within a supportive and fully staffed environment. The family’s home is their full-time residence and offers a secure, stable and professional setting.
There are five children aged between 6 and 17, although some of the older children do not live in the house full time. Mum is hands-on and actively involved in their daily lives. The role is centred around supporting school-age children — their routines, activities and organisation — rather than sole-charge early years care.
You will be working alongside an experienced full-time Housekeeper within a collaborative team structure. Responsibilities are shared and clearly defined.
The Isle of Man offers an excellent quality of life, beautiful surroundings, and strong transport links to the UK mainland.

Job Description:

• School runs and driving duties
• Supporting morning and after-school routines
• Accompanying children to sports, clubs and appointments
• Supervising homework and encouraging independence
• Preparing school lunches and snacks
• Simple, family-style cooking for the children and occasionally the family
• Assisting with bedtime routines when required
• Supporting organisation of school calendars and activities
• Ad hoc childcare during school holidays
• Keeping children’s bedrooms and family areas organised
• Children’s laundry
• Housekeeping duties in support of the existing Housekeeper

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Nanny or Nanny / Housekeeper within a private household
• Confident caring for school-age children
• Full clean driving licence essential
• Calm, structured and positive approach
• Organised and proactive
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Excellent, checkable references

Days of Work, Accommodation & Salary:

• Five-day working week, averaging 40–50 hours
• Two consecutive days off per week
• Flexibility to swap days off to create 4-day weekends when the family are travelling
• Live-in role with separate 2-bedroom self-contained accommodation
• Accommodation not suitable for partners or dependants
• Pets considered on a case-by-case basis
• Car provided for use whilst on duty (driving required)
• Salary circa £40,000 gross per annum, negotiable depending on experience
• Work visa and full employment contract arranged and paid for by the employer where applicable
• The Isle of Man has a generally lower income tax rate than the UK mainland, which can be beneficial in terms of take-home pay
• Start date flexible

Town & Country Domestic Staff is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of background, age, disability, gender, or beliefs.
