Live-In Driving Housekeeper for Private Household – Separate Flat – £40K

Family Description and Location

A warm and discreet Anglo-Spanish couple in their 80s and 90s are seeking an experienced Live-In Housekeeper to support their well-run household in the Richmond / Ham Common area.
The lady of the house is fit, active and independent. The gentleman has advanced Alzheimer’s and is supported by a full professional care team, including a full-time live-out carer and an additional morning carer. The Housekeeper does not provide personal care. The property is situated close to Ham Common and Richmond Park, within easy reach of Richmond Station (District Line, Overground and mainline services), providing straightforward access into Central London. The household also includes one well-behaved Irish Terrier.

Job Description
 

• This is a structured, long-term role focused primarily on maintaining a calm, clean and well-organised home environment for the lady of the house, while working respectfully alongside the established care team.
• The Housekeeper will be responsible for:
• High-standard housekeeping across the main living areas
• Careful cleaning with attention to respiratory sensitivities (no dust-heavy products or methods)
• Laundry and ironing for the household (the care team manage the gentleman’s personal laundry)
• Preparing breakfast, lunch and an early supper (family-style, traditional meals)
• Keeping the kitchen, utility areas and living spaces well organised
• Polishing silver and managing household presentation
• Using a leaf blower externally for light terrace and entrance upkeep
• Walking the dog as part of the daily routine
• The role does not involve personal care. On occasion, the Housekeeper may be asked to assist a carer briefly (for example, steadying a wheelchair), but there is no lifting, carrying or manual handling required.

Candidate Requirements
 

• Proven experience in a private household as a Housekeeper
• Calm, discreet and highly professional manner
• Confident cook for simple breakfast, lunch and supper service
• Driver required (car provided for use on duty)
• Comfortable working alongside professional carers
• Some care knowledge or background welcomed, though not essential
• Spanish speaker or fluent English preferred
• Dog-friendly
• Reliable, structured and respectful of routines

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary

Monday to Friday
Start time: 7:30am
Break: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Finish time: 7:00pm
Saturday: day off
Sunday: morning only (7:30am – 1:00pm)

Accommodation provided:
 

• Self-contained apartment separate from the main house
  Bedroom, sitting area, kitchen and bathroom

• All bills paid.

Salary
£40,000 gross per annum
Start date: ASAP, but the family will wait for the right person
