Live-in Domestic Couple - Housekeeper & Gardener/Handyman

Family Description & Location: 

We are seeking an experienced Housekeeper and Gardener/Handyman couple to join a welcoming British household on a beautiful private estate near Marlborough, Wiltshire. The family home sits within a busy working farm just outside the market town, surrounded by attractive gardens and farmland.
We travel regularly, so reliability and confidence in caring for the home and our three friendly dogs when we are away is essential. A comfortable 3-bedroom house on the estate is provided as accommodation. Our wider family also live on the estate, so we are looking for a couple who can integrate smoothly and work with warmth, discretion, and flexibility.

Job Description:

This is a full-time, hands-on domestic couple role. You will work together to ensure the smooth running, cleanliness, and presentation of the home, along with practical estate and garden support.
Housekeeping & Household Support

• Day-to-day housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry
• Organising and maintaining household items (linen, crockery, stores, cupboards)
• Fireplace cleaning and log restocking
• Polishing silver, brass, and antiques
• Running errands and ensuring household supplies are fully stocked
• Occasional assistance with serving and clearing during informal entertaining
• General help around the home such as changing lightbulbs, simple fixes, and liaising with contractors
• Dog care, dog walking, and dog/house sitting when we travel

Gardening, Handyman & Estate Support
• General maintenance and upkeep of the garden, grounds, and exterior areas
• Weeding, trimming, deadheading, and caring for plants, shrubs, lawns, hedges, and trees
• Routine maintenance of garden machinery and tools
• Supporting new garden or estate projects when required
• Basic repairs and practical tasks around the estate
• Looking after and maintaining the household vehicles
• Local driving when needed
• Working safely and confidently with garden tools and machinery

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a domestic couple (private household experience essential)
• Strong housekeeping skills with excellent attention to detail
• Practical, hands-on gardener with good knowledge of garden maintenance and machinery
• Positive, can-do attitude and flexible approach
• Dog friendly and confident caring for multiple dogs
• Good English and strong communication
• Reliable, self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently and as a team
• Confident driver (at least one driver essential)
• Excellent checkable references

Days of Work, Accommodation & Salary:

• Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
• Dog and house sitting required when we travel (time off in lieu provided)
• Private 3-bedroom house on the estate
• Pets and children will be considered
• £80,000 combined salary
• Start: ASAP (we will wait for the right couple)
