Driving Nanny / Housekeeper

Family Description and Location:

A busy professional family with one child aged 8 are seeking an experienced and adaptable Nanny / Housekeeper for their main residence in the leafy Highgate area of North London. The home has 7 bedrooms (4 in daily use), 5 bathrooms, multiple reception rooms, a large kitchen, and generous hallway spaces.
The nearest Tube is on the Northern Line. From time to time, travel may be required to the family’s Oxfordshire residence. The household also includes two friendly dogs – a large Labradoodle and a small Shih Tzu. Other staff are employed at both properties.

Job Description:

This is a long-term position offering sole-charge childcare alongside housekeeping duties, working as part of a small and supportive household team. Both parents work full time, so the role requires initiative, reliability, and the ability to manage the day’s priorities without constant supervision.
Duties include:

• Sole-charge care for the child, including school runs, homework support, and evening routines
• Preparing healthy, balanced meals for the child and family
• Managing child-related laundry and keeping the home organised
• Shopping, stock checks, and running household errands
• Light cleaning and linen changes
• Maintaining a clean and well-presented kitchen
• Occasional assistance at weekends or when travelling to the Oxfordshire home

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in both childcare and housekeeping within a private household
• Confident driver (pool car provided during work; parking space available)
• Friendly, discreet, and adaptable
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills
• Able to work effectively as part of a small team
• Willing to travel by arrangement
• Excellent checkable references

Days, Accommodation & Salary:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday (occasional weekend help)
• Hours: 7am–7pm with a 2-hour break (manage own time during the school day)
• Accommodation: Daily preferred; room and bathroom available if staying over
• Salary: £45,000–£55,000 gross per annum, depending on experience
