Job Description:

Indoor Duties:

  • General housekeeping – cleaning, laundry, ironing
  • Wardrobe care and household organisation
  • Occasional cooking (simple family meals, mainly during school holidays)
  • Tidying the kitchen and assisting with dinner parties or events as needed
  • Driving family members (car provided for work use)
  • Dog care – walking, feeding, and occasional weekend care
  • Goldfish tank care
  • House and pet-sitting when the family is away
  • Assisting with country shoots and family gatherings

Outdoor Duties:

  • Gardening and grounds care (1-acre garden, 6-acre field) – mowing, strimming, pruning, weeding, watering, planting, basic repairs
  • Greenhouse and vegetable planting
  • Pool maintenance (chemical balancing, cleaning)
  • General handyman duties and minor repairs
  • Driving for school runs, station drop-offs, or evening collections (typically Fridays/Saturdays with notice)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in similar domestic or hospitality roles preferred
  • Must be animal lovers and confident with dogs
  • Friendly, self-motivated, and adaptable
  • Confident drivers with clean licences (essential) – own car for personal use required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a household team
  • Happy to integrate into rural community life

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary:

  • Hours: 20 hours per week each (flexible schedule, overtime when required)
  • Days Off: 2 consecutive days (flexible based on family schedule)
  • Accommodation: Private 1-bedroom garden cottage with sitting/dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and all utilities, Wi-Fi, and council tax included
  • Salary: £560 per week (combined)
  • Benefits: 4 weeks’ paid holiday per year, use of household vehicle for work-related duties, opportunities for occasional extra work (e.g., dog-sitting)
  • Start Date: Mid-October to mid-November (latest 1st January 2025)
