Part time Housekeeper– 16-20 hours pw £20 per hour

Family Description and Location:

A warm and independent mature couple based in Highgate, North London (approximately 10 minutes’ walk from Highgate Station), are seeking a reliable and discreet part-time Housekeeper with PA skills to support their home and day-to-day organisation. The couple live in a well-maintained flat and lead an active social life; there are no pets or children in the household.

Job Description

This is a varied and flexible role best suited to a capable and well-rounded individual who can combine practical housekeeping support with light personal assistant duties. The couple are open to candidates with a blend of experience — from those focused on domestic duties such as tidying, light cleaning and occasional cooking, to individuals who also bring organisational or admin skills (e.g., diary support, errand running, basic correspondence).
While they currently retain a fortnightly cleaner, they are open to replacing that arrangement if the right all-rounder is found.
The role does not involve companionship or personal care, but prior experience working with older clients or a background in supporting individuals with illness would be a bonus.

Typical duties may include:

• General housekeeping (tidying, light cleaning, organisation)
• Simple cooking or meal prep
• Running errands or local shopping
• Diary reminders and light admin support
• Booking appointments or occasional reservations
• Receiving deliveries and managing basic household logistics
• Occasional laundry/ironing
• Being a trusted, helpful presence in the home

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar private household role
• Strong housekeeping ability and attention to detail
• Friendly, discreet, and highly organised
• Comfortable with basic admin tasks or diary assistance
• Proactive and trustworthy, with good common sense
• Able to take initiative while respecting boundaries
• Experience supporting older clients a plus
• Fluent English; additional languages welcome
• DBS check (or willingness to obtain)

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary:
 

• Working Schedule: Flexible – 2 to 4 half days per week or 1–2 full days per week; open to 5 half days for the right person
• Location: Highgate, North London (live-out only)
• Salary: From £20 per hour, depending on experience and skill set
