Live in domestic couple – Separate 2 bed Accom - £80K+ Neg

BEAUTIFUL COASTAL PROPERTY IN NORTH NORFOLK 

Family Description and Location

This is a really lovely job for a live in Housekeeper and Handyman couple to work for a friendly informal British family living in a beautiful 6-bedroom farmhouse, large barn conversion, swimming pool and entertainment space near to Kings Lynn in Norfolk. The house is surrounded by 25 acres of land (20 of which is parkland and paddock) and 5 is garden. The family have three children, boy 14, girl 11 and boy 6. The family also have 2 Whippets and two ponies.  The two principles travel to London in the week so there will be overnight proxy parenting at least twice a week.  

Job Description
 

• You will need to work together a team to keep this busy household running smoothly.
• You will need to keep the house clean and well presented, with laundry and ironing, changing the beds and other household linens.  The house has artwork and antique furniture as well as specialist surfaces.
• You will also help with childcare when needed, making sure that the children's school uniforms and gym kits are available etc and also do school runs as and when needed. (one of the children is at boarding school so there will be occasional pickups on Saturday mornings)
• You will need to cooking family style food for the children each evening and make sure the kitchen it tidy and ready for the morning.  There is a weekly Ocado shop so you will need to sure you are organised with lists for provisioning for the house weekly.
• The other part of the role will be general gardening, mowing and upkeep of grounds (landscapers come the specific and specialised gardening), jet washing patios, changing lightbulbs, dealing with contractors and deliveries, DIY, and driving including stations runs and school runs, upkeep of the cars etc.
• You will  need to be confident with maintaining lighting, heating systems, swimming pool, security systems and general tech.
• General pet care – trips to the vet, mucking out of the ponies etc.

 
Candidate Requirements

 It is essential that you have at least 3 years’ experience working as a housekeeper in a similar role in a private household with suitable references.  You will need to speak good English and be child friendly. One of you and ideally both of of you will be experienced and confident drivers. This is a busy and dynamic household so you must both be able to manage your time well, be organised and self-starters who can work without direction.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
 

• Monday – Friday
• 7am – 7pm with breaks in the day
• There will be flexibility needed for overnight stays during the week, babysitting with notice and school pickups on a Saturday morning (time off will be either overtime or time off in lieu)
• Sole use of separate staff Apartment in the stable block (2 bedrooms and open plan with kitchen/sitting room/diner and bathroom
• Accommodation not suitable for dependents but small pets will be considered
• The package includes council tax, heating and electricity
• Use of a car on Duty
• March/April Start (interviewing and trials to commence asap)
• £80K plus negotiable subject to hours and experience.
