Job Description:
The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and maintenance across the family’s personal devices, in-home systems, and digital setup. While much of the infrastructure is already in place, the candidate will ensure seamless operation and be on-hand for troubleshooting, configuration, and day-to-day user support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct support to family members across their homes and office environment
- Managing, maintaining and troubleshooting Apple devices (iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple TVs, etc.)
- Supporting smart home systems and AV installations (e.g., Sky Q, Apple TV, VPN networks, multi-room sound/TV setups)
- Liaising with and overseeing third-party providers, ensuring quality of service
- Coordinating with the internal IT department on installations or upgrades
- Maintaining strong network connectivity across properties, identifying and resolving Wi-Fi and hardware issues
- Offering remote and in-person troubleshooting for both immediate needs and longer-term performance optimisation
- Providing occasional tech assistance with social media platforms (Instagram, etc.)
- Supporting the household team and family office staff with any tech-related queries
- Remaining available out of hours as needed for emergencies or scheduled support (shared with Head of IT)
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in IT support, either within a corporate or private household environment
- Strong working knowledge of Apple systems and related technologies
- Confidence working with VPNs, network configuration, smart home systems, and AV equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a calm, service-led approach
- A flexible and proactive attitude with the ability to prioritise and adapt
- Able to communicate technical issues clearly and helpfully to non-technical users
- Experience in managing or liaising with third-party contractors and service providers
- Trustworthy, discreet and solutions-oriented
- Driving licence not required
Days of Work and Salary:
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (based in Soho office or on-site as needed)
- On-Call: Flexibility required for occasional evenings/weekends, shared with the Head of IT
- Location: London-based with occasional travel to UK properties (Gloucestershire, Devon); international travel not expected
- Salary: £40,000+ gross per annum, depending on experience (flexible for the right candidate)
- Employment Basis: PAYE
