Estate manager sought for Private Estate own cottage £40-£75K

Family Description and Location

A beautiful privately owned estate is seeking a proactive Estate manager. (Domestic Couple would also be considered) The Estate is the main residence of a British Couple and comprises of 150 acres as well as an 8 bedroom country house , additional cottages various outbuildings/stables lakes and watercourses.

Job Description
 

• Supervise and manage the day to day running of the Estate.
• Meet with Principal to discuss plans , events and general estate requirements.
• Manage the upkeep and enhancement of the estate’s gardens and grounds.
• Oversee the Gardening team to review seasonal planting, mowing, pruning and general landscape tasks.  
• Manage outside contractors employed for a specific purpose, ie Tree surgeons, service engineers etc
• Proactively identify and address potential maintenance and repairs across the estate.
• Responsible for the Monitoring and upkeep of the estates security and security systems to safeguard the estate and residents.  
• Being the first point of contact on the estate for Alarm monitoring companies, outside providers.  etc    
• Liaise with the wider team , providing regular updates, and acting as point of contact for the family
• Liaise with event planners, caters to ensure that all events run smoothly.

If  couple are to apply the other half of the role would encompass housekeeping and house management and cooking would be a bonus.
 
 
Candidate Requirements
 

• The ideal candidate will be practical, resourceful and capable of the smooth running of the estate
• Proven experience managing a private estate or similar property
• Knowledge of groundskeeping and land management.  
• Great leadership, highly organised, thorough and be calm under pressure.   
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills
• Adept at financial management and budgeting
• Diligent about health and safety.
• Good sense of humour
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Qualifications in Horticulture, estate or land management would benefit.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary
 

• 5 day wk.  40hrs ( some flexibility depending on when the family are in residence)
• Working couple considered. Partner to be fully experienced in all aspects of housing keeping to a high standard who would join the existing housekeeping team.
• Private estate accommodation provided; pet friendly , not suitable for dependants.
• £40-£75K dependent on if a single or couple application and skillset and experience.
