Daily Housekeeper for Private Country Residence , M– F, 40 hrs pw, £45K Gross, June start

Family Description and Location:

A warm and welcoming family of five are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their fully staffed country property located near Basingstoke, Hampshire.

The household includes two adults and three self-sufficient children aged 15, 14, and 10. The family have two friendly Labradors and four horses, cared for by an on-site groom. An estate manager oversees the exterior operations, and a weekend housekeeper is already in place.
The property consists of a large 8-bedroom, 7-bathroom main house with a summer house on the grounds. This is a beautiful rural estate requiring a professional who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.

Job Description: 

This is a hands-on, full-time Housekeeper role, focused on keeping the household running smoothly during the week. You will be responsible for daily cleaning, laundry, and maintaining high presentation standards throughout the home.
Duties include:

• Daily housekeeping across all main rooms and bathrooms
• Laundry, ironing and wardrobe management
• Making provision lists and liaising with the estate team
• Simple cooking for the children on occasion (e.g. Shepherd’s pie or pasta)
• Assisting with food prep for the Principal when needed
• Occasional dog walking
• Light support with the children when required (no formal childcare expected)

You’ll be supported by a weekend housekeeper and expected to work independently Monday to Friday.

Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be:

• Thorough, reliable and able to work without supervision
• Experienced in high-standard private homes
• Friendly, child-aware and happy to be around older children
• Able to communicate clearly and manage their own workload
• Happy to live-in or commute daily
• Excellent ironing, laundry care and attention to detail are essential, as well as the ability to manage your time and work quietly alongside a busy household.
• You will need a driving licence and car to get to and from work.

Days of Work, and Salary:

• Days/Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
  (Flexible start options: 7am–3pm, 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm)

• Salary: £45,000 gross per annum
• Start Date: June 2025
